Sometimes parasites cause more constipation than diarrhea, but some parasites are capable of changing the fluid balance in your gut and causing diarrhea. Trouble sleeping, skin irritations, mood changes, and muscle pain can all be caused by the toxins that parasites release into the bloodstream. These toxins often cause anxiety, which can manifest itself in different ways. For instance, waking up in the middle of the night or grinding your teeth in your sleep are signs that your body is experiencing anxiety while you rest. When these toxins interact with your neurotransmitters or blood cells, they can cause mood swings or skin irritation.
Functional medicine comprehensive stool test is best way to test for parasites.
A properly functioning digestive system is critical to good health. 80% of our immune system is located in our gut, and 90% of our neurotransmitters (chemicals responsible for regulating mood) such as serotonin are made in our gut.
Some people experience intestinal distress, or just need a natural colon cleanse to remove toxins from their body. Adding more fiber to one’s food regime can assist the body to eliminate as well as drinking more water.
Keep a food journal to determine if there’s a pattern to your eating regime that can be blocking you up! Elimination is the end product of digestion.
Here’s some foods & herbs that can help with the process:
Garlic
Lemon
Cayenne Pepper
Psyllium Seed Husk
Apples
Ginger & Honey
Flaxseeds
Aloe Vera
Wheatgrass
Fennel Seeds
Peppermint
Mango
Water
Fermented foods
Prunes
Adding a natural colon cleansing drink to your daily regime or when you need extra assistance can be beneficial. Start by adding ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper into a 10-ounce glass of purified water along with a freshly squeezed lemon and a shot of apple cider vinegar to help the process. You can drink this first thing in the morning and throughout the day and end the day with this as well. Obviously, if you’re on medications and whenever you start a new regime you need to get clearance from your primary practitioner. The cayenne pepper breaks down mucus in your colon, while lemon juice helps eliminates toxins.
