Fluoride is a toxin and symptoms of poisoning include gastrointestinal pain, nausea, headaches, burning sensation, cramping, fatigue and vomiting. Studies have shown that even with minimum dosage, it causes acute toxicity. Ingested fluoride gets transformed in the stomach to hydrofluoric acid and can have a corrosive effect on the GI tract lining. Unfortunately, fluoride is one of the least understood medicines in terms of chronic toxicology.
Did you know that even chronic exposure to low daily doses of fluoride can lead to joint pain which is a symptom of skeletal fluorosis? With the widespread exposure of fluoride in water, oral products, pollution and synthetic fluorinated drugs, comes the condition called dental fluorosis. Fluoride can accumulate fastest in individuals with impaired kidney function and affects one’s acid-base balance.
Water (including well water), beverages and food can contain fluoride so check if your foods and beverages are fluoride enriched. Many common pharmaceuticals are fluorinated such as Cipro, Levaquin, Trovan, Diflucan, Prozac, Paxal, Luvox, Dalmane, Hismanal, Lipitor, Lariam, Celebrex, Arava, Clinoril, Haldol, Prolixin, Stelazine. Flovent, Flonase, Advair, Decadron, Diprosone, Cyclocort, many general anesthetics and other medicines.
Chronic exposure to fluorinated water as low as 1 ppm, has been shown to increase risk of bone fractures, osteoporosis and dental fluorosis.
Wonder why fluoride has been added to approximately 70% of United States drinking water. Supposedly, it was added to help prevent cavities but it has not decreased the rate of tooth decay and is actually linked to many health issues and even lowered IQ. Worse yet the fluoride can be laced with heavy metals such as lead, arsenic, aluminum and a few others.
Fluoride is a toxic element that accumulates in human tissue, affects one’s digestive enzymes and linked to neurological and endocrine issues.
