The definition of a mantra originally in Hinduism and Buddhism is a word or sound repeated to aid concentration in meditation or a slogan repeated frequently especially in advocacy or motivation.
Choosing your own health mantra equates to having some personal commitment declaration attached to your health goal and can be a powerful transformative reminder and motivation.
Ask yourself, “Why do I want to achieve this specific health goal?” Your answer will be whatever you desire. There is no shortage of inspiration to keep your health regime going strong and staying on track. What resonates with you will be the most benefecial as it is very personal. Dedicate some quite time alone with yourself to think upon your health mantras and then write them done and display them where you can see them everyday. You can even set reminders on your phone and have them pop up at different times of the day to keep you thinking of your health goals. Write them on sticky notes and place them on a mirror, refrigerator, work desk, computer screen, the more places the better. Out of sight is out of mind and the goal is to keep your health mantra alive in your mind, thoughts and actions.
