Fix Your Gut

Our health starts in our core. It’s easy to remember our core when it comes to exercise but we seem to forget its importance when it comes to our health.

Watch what you feed your body and monitor what works for you and what does not. Many foods can cause inflammation and not provide nutritional value. Grains and toxins can cause damage to the intestinal lining and bring on a condition called ‘leaky gut syndrome’.  If you are depleted in benefecial bacteria then it’s time to avoid all wheat and gluten grains and take a quality probiotic and digestive enzymes to help heal the intestinal lining.

Consuming health fats will nourish your core and make you feel fuller longer.  Focus on eating in a way that balances each meal along with your blood sugar, reduces inflammation and oxidative stress while improving liver detoxification.  Whole foods rich in fiber, colorful vegetables and fruits, low sugars and a lean protein is a good start.

Here’s a five step food regime to start incorporating today:

  1. Cut the gluten and dairy
  2. Replace the simple carbohydrates with complex carbohydrates
  3. Eat healthy fats
  4. Eat enough healthy protein
  5. Drink water instead of soda, juices, sugar laden hot drinks.

These healthy five step modifications should yield positive healthy results.

Focusing on what you are eating will make your health a priority as you reach your optimal health goals.
